Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has dropped a fresh hint that the club are locked in talks with James Milner over a contract extension.
The veteran midfielder’s current deal expires at the end of this season, and Milner had previously revealed in July that he remained in the dark over his Anfield future.
However, it is believed that the 33-year-old’s contributions to Liverpool’s Champions League triumph in the last campaign have prompted the top flight giants to retain his services.

In his latest press conference, Klopp emphasised the importance of Milner to his side, but was wary not to delve into specific details over a potential new deal.
He said: ‘He looks like he has a few more years in him, but contract talks, we don’t talk about here. Not even about Milner.’
The Liverpool boss added: ‘[He is] unbelievably important to us. He is Mr Professional, that is how it is. Serious in what he does but a funny guy.
‘Against MK Dons, five kids and you have six seniors. No chance [of complacency] while Milner is there. He is a role model for the team.
