Jurgen Klopp has teased a change in tactics for Liverpool against Real Madrid after revealing how he masterminded victory as Borussia Dortmund manager back in 2013.
Klopp caused a huge Champions League shock five years ago when Dortmund overcame Jose Mourinho’s side to reach the final at Wembley.
And as he aims to repeat the trick in Kiev on Saturday, Klopp may choose to look back at the night when Robert Lewandowski hit them for four at Signal Iduna Park.

The Liverpool boss revealed how a tactical switch to overload Madrid on the left, where Cristiano Ronaldo was failing to track back, instead of the right, underpinned the 4-1 victory that night.
‘And Mario Gotze played man-marking against Alonso! That’s true. Everybody knew it before’, the German told The Mirror.
‘Alonso gets the ball, turns, Ronaldo is on his bike already. So we played Mario man-marking against Alonso in the 4-1 at home. And it worked pretty well.’
Klopp may be tempted to try something similar to stop Zinedine Zidane’s side feeding the Portuguese superstar, who has 15 goals in Europe this year, on Saturday.

But the Liverpool manager is wary that Madrid’s experience could prove crucial when they come face-to-face in Ukraine.
He added: ‘But it’s not that easy making these things against Real Madrid. They are cool as ice.
‘You have a chance against them and they are not bothered. It doesn’t affect them. Have you seen them even one time, panicking because someone had a chance against them? Ice.’
