Jurgen Klopp stuck the boot into broadcasters over Liverpool’s ‘insane’ fixture scheduling, with the outgoing German boss not holding back as he called it a ‘crime’ his side had played so many games in a short space of time.

The Reds are still clinging onto faint hopes of winning the Premier League title ahead of their home clash against Tottenham on Sunday – which comes just over a week after their last game, a 2-2 draw at West Ham.

Their two Europa League legs against Atalanta were on April 11 and April 18, with a 1-0 home loss to Crystal Palace sandwiched in the middle.

‘Somebody sits there and decides this. I would like to be part of that meeting when someone decides “Liverpool have 12.30” and the room is bursting into laughter. We had the quickest turnaround in games in the whole world. It’s absolutely insane.
