The couple, who met back in 2013, announced their engagement in June 2020.

‘Forever and a day,’ Becky posted online at the time, underneath a black and white picture of her stunning engagement ring.

In an interview with The Herald Sun, Becky revealed Pat had proposed during a romantic picnic in the countryside.

‘Pat surprised me with a picnic down in the country and I had absolutely no idea it was coming,’ she told the publication.

‘I was a little bit suss when he pulled out the bottle of champagne. It was very romantic, he got down on one knee and I think I just went into shock and threw myself on him.’

In an interview with ESPNcricinfo, Pat spoke about how the coronavirus pandemic had derailed the couple’s marriage plans.

‘First of all, it means that I’ll have to be more involved with the plans because I am around more, which is good,’ he said.

‘No, we’re lucky. Obviously just got engaged, so hopefully most of this would have blown over by the time our wedding comes around.’

They welcomed son Albie in October last year, with Pat tweeting that he was ‘beyond besotted’ with the baby boy.

‘We did it, I still can’t believe we made this little person,’ model-turned-interior designer Becky posted online at the time.

‘Hands down the hardest, craziest, happiest, most beautiful, amazing, challenging, magical two weeks of my life,’ she added in part of a post.

The happy couple live in a $9.5million mansion in the Sydney beachside suburb of Bronte.

They also own a cottage in the NSW Southern Highlands, which they purchased for $906,000 in 2019.

In December last year, Pat was confirmed as the new Australian men’s Test cricket captain, replacing Tim Paine after his sexting scandal rocked the sport.

Fellow cricketer Steve Smith was picked as his deputy, marking his return to a leadership role following 2018’s ball-tampering scandal.
