Justin Bieber sparks outrage after ‘vile’ Mother’s Day outburst

Justin Bieber has sparked outrage over a concerning outburst about Mother’s Day – despite wife Hailey Bieber celebrating her first.

The 31-year-old singer left fans perturbed and confused with a note on Instagram which read: ‘Love u moms but mothers day sucks a**.’

The post, which is no longer visible on his profile, was swiftly criticized, with users shocked that he could be referring to his wife, 28, who gave birth to their first child Jack in August 2024.

‘Justin Bieber posting “mother’s day sucks a**” as his wife celebrates her first one is so… vile to me,’ one shocked user wrote in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter.

‘Yeah I’m not surprised he’s not taking to the family life like everyone was so excited about when they first shared the news. He’s been in dire need of therapy, not a baby,’ one user slammed.

‘Man is going through something to be externalizing all of this. Not excusing his behavior but man the cruelty he is showing his wife is so sad,’ agreed another.

While some were convinced his bizarre note was a slight towards Hailey, others pointed out it could be directed at his own mother.

‘Justin has a complicated relationship with Mother’s Day as do a lot of people. He loves Hailey — that wasn’t directed towards her,’ a user insisted.

‘It has nothing to do with his wife, Mother’s Day is very triggering to those who grew up with narcissistic parental [figures], or parents who were more like children per se. 

‘Mother’s Day has become a burden to those with childhood trauma. Leave these people alone and let them live in peace. It’s unbelievable how much these celebrities have to deal with these assumptions of society. It’s wrong they are human too,’ slammed another. 

‘This also screams how he feels about his mom but hey that’s a conversation ya not ready to talk about,’ slammed another. 

Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, was fundamental to her son’s early success – accompanying him on his first trip to Atlanta to meet music entrepreneur Scooter Braun, and uploading videos of Justin singing cover versions of famous songs to YouTube, where his talent was first discovered.

Pattie – who gave birth to her son at a home for teenager mothers a month before her 19th birthday – was in charge of signing Justin’s legal documents as his career took off, and she admitted the task was ‘daunting,’ admitting she was in a vulnerable position. 

However despite the speculation, Bieber also shared a series of photos of himself and his mother online to celebrate Mother’s Day. 

In addition to the strange post, Bieber also shared another which read: ‘Good luck today for anyone navigating Mother’s Day,’ per The Mirror.

The hitmaker’s erratic posts come after he also shared a sweet snap of Hailey in his Instagram Stories kissing their son Jack’s foot on Sunday.

Users shared their thoughts over the bizarre post, some speculating it was aimed at his own mother

Bieber also hired a mariachi band to serenade her at dinner for Mother’s Day.

In a video he posted to Instagram, the model could be seen grinning from ear to ear as they dined at sunset while a group of musicians strode out and began singing and playing in her honor.

Hailey celebrated the day with an adorable black and white photo of her feet and Jacks, writing: ‘I love being your mommy Jack Blues. Happy Mothers Day.’ 

Bieber reposted, writing ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ on the sweet black and white photo with Natalie Cole’s This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) playing beneath it.

It comes amid fan concern over the singer after his many cryptic posts over the past months have sparked speculation on his wellbeing and the state of his marriage. 

The couple tied the knot in September 2018, just a few months after the Grammy winner had broken up with his on-and-off girlfriend Selina Gomez, 32.
