Justin Timberlake has found his next movie project, signing on to star alongside Benicio del Toro in the new thriller Reptile.

Netflix has picked up the worldwide rights to the project from Black Label Media, according to Deadline, which del Toro had already been cast in.

Music video director Grant Singer will make his feature directorial  debut with Reptile, working from a script he co-wrote with Benjamin Brewer (The Trust).

The story follows the grisly murder of a young real estate agent, with del Toro playing the ‘hardened detective’ assigned to the case.

The plot follows the detective as he tries to uncover the truth in a case where nothing is as it seems.

Along the way, the detective, ‘finds himself dismantling the illusions in his own life,’ according to the description.

Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill, Thad Luckinbill are producing for Black Label Media, with Black Label Media’s Seth Spector co-producing.

Benicio Del Toro will also serve as an executive producer on the film, alongside Rachel Smith.

No production schedule was given on the film, and it’s unclear when it may ultimately debut on Netflix.

Timberlake is coming off his film Palmer, which debuted on Apple TV Plus back in January.

He also recently signed on to portray the late Chuck Barris in a TV series adaptation of his controversial ‘unauthorized autobiography’ Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.

The book was published in 1984, which claimed that, while he was hosting TV shows like The Gong Show, he was also working as a CIA assassin in the 1960s and 1970s.

del Toro is coming off No Sudden Move for director Steven Soderbergh, which debuted on HBO Max on July 1.

He will next be seen as part of the talented ensemble of Wes Anderson’s new film The French Dispatch, in theaters October 22.

He also stars in the upcoming star-studded All-Star Weekend, from writer-director-star Jamie Foxx.
