Havertz is hoping to have a deal sealed with Chelsea by next week, as Leverkusen’s Europa League campaign approaches after the coronavirus pandemic caused the competition to be pushed back.

Leverkusen have said that their upcoming European fixtures will not stall any move for the 21-year-old, who is likely to cost the Blues £90million.

Chelsea confirmed Champions League qualification last weekend after their victory over Wolves sealed fourth spot for Lampard in his first season in management.

The prospect of Champions League football over Europa League is another selling point for Havertz, after Leverkusen just fell short of qualification to the Champions League.

Chelsea are also in the market for a left-back, with Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell on Lampard’s radar despite a huge asking fee, and a goalkeeper with Kepa Arrizabalaga linked with an exit this summer.

Winger Willian is also yet to decide on his future at Stamford Bridge with his contract coming to an end, but the Brazilian’s agent confirmed he will make his choice after the club’s FA Cup final against Arsenal.
