Kansas City Chiefs provide major update on Rashee Rice after the wide receiver was carted off injured

The Kansas City Chiefs have placed wide receiver Rashee Rice on injured reserve, meaning he will be out for a minimum of four games.

Rice was injured during last Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers after taking a low-hit from his own quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, who missed a tackle on LA cornerback Kristian Fulton.

The wide receiver needed to be carted off the field after making his way to the sideline and did not return to the game.

Earlier today, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said, ‘We’ll get testing done and let you know.’

But this designation seems to indicate that Rice’s injury is serious – and by rule, he will be out for the next four weeks.

Rice is currently the Chiefs’ leading receiver – hauling in 24 of his 29 targets for 288 yards and two touchdowns throughout the season.

The loss of Rice is a blow to the team – something that was acknowledged by teammate Travis Kelce on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast.

‘It’s not going to be any easier seeing Rashee (Rice) go down during the game,’ Kelce said. I just love the way that guy was playing the game of football, how he was attacking every single day in practice.

‘Sometimes you just root so hard for the guys that do it the right way, and Rashee had been doing that, man. It was a huge dagger to me when I saw him go down.’

Off the field, Rice’s family was getting into issues – with the receiver’s mother being accused of stealing a neighbor’s package.

In the video, a woman walks by the camera wearing a ‘Momma-Rice’ jersey with the No. 4 on it and looks right into the lens as she passes by.

Moments later, the woman returns and uses her foot to slide a package away from the door. But unfortunately for her, while she thought she was out of the camera’s view, the woman is seen bending down to grab the package – lifting up a box and then walking away.

According to TMZ, the rightful owner purchased two limited-edition vinyl Chappell Roan records from Urban Outfitters. She tried resolving the situation without police involvement, but the outlet reports that a police report has been filed.
