‘I’m just excited to be playing football,’ Gay said in the Chiefs locker room after practice Thursday, via FOX4’s P.J. Green.

‘That stuff – it’s just what comes with the game. Like coach Reid said, ‘We don’t do no talking; we just go.’ Handle business when it’s time to go.’

When asked about the game-plan to stop the Bengals Sunday, Gay Jr was more focused on the ground than in the air, specifically targeting in-form running back Joe Mixon.

‘Stop the run for sure,’ added Gay.

‘You know they’re going to try to do that, to act like they can big-boy us, but the front six, seven is going to definitely do our job and try to slow that down.’

Gay Jr’s comments won’t have been lost in transit to Cincinnati and it will be a fascinating first snap for he Bengals offensive line to see how they target the linebacker.
