The duo met last year in Spain, with her flying back out to woo him following their first rendez vous.
Since then, love has blossomed between the pair and they have been pictured canoodling on a number of sun-soaked holidays.
And in July David proposed to Karen, following their whirlwind romance.
They had been in Spain when his proposal took place and he seized the opportunity to ask Karen to be his wife while they had been enjoying a romantic moment together while making their way across a rocky shoreline.
The couple now live together in Rochdale and had made a joint appearance on Loose Women earlier this month where they discussed their nuptials.
While they revealed they are yet to set a date, Karen said she is looking forward to their wedding dance. The newly-engaged couple then came over all coy when presenter Saira Khan asked if they would have children.
‘We might have children in the future possibly, but we just thought lets enjoy the wedding,’ Karen explained.
She shares two sons with her ex-husband former Labour MP Simon Danczuk – their four-year marriage had ended in 2016 after three years.
