And despite reports of a fallout stemming from her 2017 departure over a pay dispute, Karl’s axing from the morning show seems to have brought them back together.
On Wednesday, Lisa shared a backhanded tribute to Karl on Instagram and he extended an olive branch by following her on Instagram.

Following Lisa’s backhanded Instagram tribute to Karl after his departure was announced, Karl, 44, has extended an olive branch by following her online.
In Lisa’s tribute to Karl, she shared a montage of throwback pictures of the pair with a brief caption.
‘Wishing [Karl] all the best. Because when it was good, it was great…,’ she wrote.

Karl followed Lisa’s Instagram account one hour later, and ‘liked’ several posts including her tribute.
It is unknown when the former colleagues initially unfollowed each other on the app, but their friendship appeared to end after Lisa left Today in October 2017.

The 59-year-old left the Nine program amid a gender pay row.
At the time, Karl was on a reported $2million package, with Lisa on $1.1million – later offered an additional $700,000 for 2018 by show bosses.
Lisa refused the offer and took her talents to Channel 10 instead, where she co-hosts The Project and is executive editor for the network’s website, Ten Daily.

Karl and Lisa’s lack of friendship became apparent in November, when the brunette was ‘snubbed’ from his Mexican wedding to Jasmine Yarbrough.
New Idea claimed ahead of the big day that Karl knew Lisa wouldn’t show up, even if she was invited.
A source allegedly said: ‘There is too much water under that bridge now and they both know it’s too hard to come back from everything that’s been said and done.’
Speaking of Karl’s nuptials on The Project on December 10, Lisa said: ‘It’s lovely to see. They look very happy.
She continued by saying: ‘I think they’ve had a couple of rough years. And it’ll be nice to get on with the rest of their lives. Together.’
In a statement issued to Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday discussing his exit from Today, Karl said: ‘For the last 14 years I’ve co-hosted the best show on television.
‘I can’t thank Nine enough for the opportunity. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be good enough to host this grand show for so long.
‘Thanks to our viewers mostly, you are what matters most. It’s been a tough time. Thanks for hanging in there.
‘I look forward to seeing you in another capacity at this great Network soon.’
