Earlier this month, New Idea alleged that Karl Stefanovic had hit ‘rock bottom’ and was inconsolable after not being nominated for a Logie Award.
The magazine ran the story alongside images of the 43-year-old looking rather distraught, and apparently being comforted by fiancée Jasmine Yarbrough.
However on Thursday’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Karl revealed what was really happening in those paparazzi photos.

‘[New Idea] got a shot of me and Jasmine in an embrace, consoling me because we’d just found out about the Logies nominations!’ the Today host began.
Karl then explained that what actually happened was far less dramatic.
They were in Mosman, Sydney and Karl had asked Jasmine if he could buy a muffin – but she wouldn’t allow it because they need to be in shape for their wedding.

‘I said to her, “Babe, can I have a muffin?” and I just went bang into her shoulder!’ he said, laughing.
In early June, New Idea alleged that Karl had hit ‘rock bottom’ because he was not nominated for a Logie Award.
An insider apparently told the publication: ‘Karl is devastated that he’s been snubbed for a Logie nomination.
Not what it seems: However Karl revealed on Thursday’s Kyle and Jackie O radio show, that the embrace was over not being able to eat a muffin due to shredding for his upcoming wedding
‘He feels like he’s hit rock bottom and the fact that Tracy [Grimshaw] and Grant [Denyer] are both favourites for the Gold Logie is a real kick in the teeth for him.’
New Idea also suggested that the snub was linked to Karl losing much of his female fanbase due to his ‘messy’ split with ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn and subsequent relationship with Jasmine.
