On Monday’s episode of the Today show, host Karl Stefanovic made a surprising confession.
During an interview with The Block contestants Wombat and Sticks, the 43-year-old admitted he was a fan of the colourful pair.
Karl even revealed he had a ‘big crush’ on Wombat, as the bearded home renovator laughed off the compliment.
He’s a fan! During an interview with The Block’s Wombat and Sticks on Monday, Today host Karl Stefanovic confessed he had a ‘big crush’ on the bearded home renovator
Karl’s comment came after Wombat, 38, and Sticks, 31, won the hallway episode after bringing a feminine touch to their design and decor.
‘Wombat, I’ve had a big crush on you for a long time now and I just thought it was only a matter of time before that softer side of you gets shown in a very public way,’ Karl remarked.
‘What got you over the line?’ he then asked.
‘The colour pink is what got me over the line and I hope that doesn’t change anything between us. Karl, I’m still a man!’ he laughed.
On Sunday, Wombat and Sticks’ room reveal took the No. 1 spot, before adding on an additional bonus point they had won earlier in the season.
The country boys, who were only one of two teams to finish the room, had focused their efforts on a more softened style – and it paid off.

Judge Shaynna Blaze praised the more feminine approach, and described the panelling on the ceiling and hallways as masterpieces.
The experts, including Neale Whitaker and Darren Palmer, were also impressed by less masculine elements, such as the colour palette and artwork.
The Block continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel Nine
