Today show host Karl Stefanovic posted to Instagram to showcase his terrifying Halloween costume which proved to be a little too much for his daughter, Harper.
In a lighthearted move, Stefanovic posted a video on his Instagram account donning an inflatable alien costume that hilariously gave the illusion of the extraterrestrial carrying him away.
Poking fun at himself, the witty presenter captioned the eerie post, ‘I may not be in tomorrow. Happy Halloween’.
However, little did he know that the jovial jape would bring tears to the eyes of his three-year-old daughter.
Toddler Harper, visibly upset by her dad’s transformation into an ‘alien captive’, was heard exclaiming, ‘I want daddy back’.

The heart-melting reaction garnered a wave of responses from fans.
Many sympathised with the toddler, while others found the innocent response to be utterly endearing.
‘Oh that is traumatising,’ wrote his former co-host Allison Langdon.

Karl shares his daughter with shoe designer wife, Jasmine Stefanovic, 39, who he married in Mexico in 2018.
The couple recently returned from a lavish trip to Paris, where they attended the the wedding of heiress Tamie Ingham and chef Guillaume Brahimi.
Karl and Jasmine also regularly visit Queensland. The pair are both grew up in the Sunshine State before they relocated to Sydney.
