Karlie stumbled upon her passion for coding during a modelling hiatus before fashion week in 2014. She enrolled in a boot camp program for coding at NYC’s Flatiron School.

The St. Louis native became consumed with the creative possibilities in the tech world, and Kode with Klossy was born. The organization provides girls with the opportunity to learn how to code during a 12-week intensive camp.

The camps have expanded to 10 different cities across the United States.

The supermodel talked to Forbes about her journey to becoming a businesswoman.

‘I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart. The idea of starting a business was a dream of mine long before modelling. The power of code is that you can actually take an idea and build it out yourself or understand what is possible to build.’
