Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid are stunned when two male foxes start ‘humping’ each other on live TV

Good Morning Britain presenters Susanna Reid and Kate Garraway were lost for words when a pair of foxes began humping during a live broadcast.

Reid and Garraway were joined by Ben Shephard this morning as they watched a segment about a pair of imported baby foxes weighing just two kilograms.

The duo arrived at an animal sanctuary in Worcestershire after a 1,500-mile journey from a zoo in Hungary.  The pair of Fennec foxes are in Britain as part of a breeding program designed to protect the species from extinction

As the camera zoomed in, the GMB hosts were left aghast as the furry pair started furiously humping – giving no doubt the breeding programme could soon begin in earnest.

‘Hopefully you saw the cuteness there, they are two males, hopefully they’ll find love in the next year or so,’ said GMB reporter Nitya Rajan – who appeared unaware of what was unfolding.

‘I’ve been told that they are looking for potential mates in the next year and they’re ready to find love.’

As Rajan continued to described humping as a ‘defence mechanism’, a clearly amused Garraway interjected.

She said: ‘Yes they are here on a breeding programme, so it’s good they are doing what they’re here for!’

‘They’re doing what they do best!’

‘It’s certainly perked the crew up,’ joked Shephard.

Susanna Reid quipped: ‘We probably don’t need to see that again at 6.19 in the morning!

‘That’s perked everyone up, I think.’

Weather host Laura Tobin added: ‘We either need cooling down or a nice cool shower!’
