Kate Garraway carries a bag of fake HAIR while leaving GMB

She guzzled prosecco at 8.30am and piled her hair into a bauble-studded Christmas tree style ‘do on Good Morning Britain today.

And Kate Garraway seemed to be on a high from the morning’s live TV antics, flashing a wide grin as she left the Global Radio Studios in London on Friday.

The fun-loving presenter, 50, beamed as she strutted out while carrying a bag stuffed with the extensions and festive decorations used to create her voluminous hairstyle earlier in the day.

Loving life: Kate Garraway seemed to be in high spirits as she left the Global Radio Studios in London on Friday

The blonde beauty looked chic in a scarlet trouser suit, wrapping up against the December chill in a furry black coat.

She added height to her petite frame with some gold boots and swung a leather bag packed with her accessories from her GMB appearance.

Earlier in the day, she left viewers amused as she tried out the ‘Christmas Tree’ hairdo – a trend among Instagram influencers and Youtube sensation.

Kate transformed her sleek bob into a voluminous tower of hair festooned with tinsel, decorations and baubles in just 45 seconds thanks to the show’s stylists.

Ensuring the look stayed on throughout the show, the team of hairstylists fixed Kate’s barnet to her head with a chin strap.

Balancing the outrageous gravity-defying ‘do on her head, Kate managed to maintain a straight face as she sat behind her desk and presented a segment.

The antics didn’t stop there, as Garraway then acted as barmaid to the rest of the hosts when Andi Peters gave her a bag that poured fizz.

Looking impressed by the handbag, which featured a tap that pours prosecco on its side, Kate helped herself to a glass and guzzled it down.

She also treated fellow presenter Charlotte Hawkins to an early-morning tipple, all before 8.30am.

Kate later took to Instagram to show off her magnificent back-combed hairdo, sharing a Boomerang video of her posing with it.

The mum-of-two captioned it: ‘Just a little understated hairdo for #christmas. Don’t want to take it off abut not sure how will get through the studio door!’

It comes just one day after the presenter was left flustered after a hen she was holding as part of a ‘Henpower’ awareness campaign, broke loose on live TV.

Appearing on the sofa holding Clara the clucky chicken, Kate proceeded to interview chicken-lovers Pam Snowball and Pat Cain about their project which aims to help battle loneliness among pensioners by letting the care for the feathered creatures.

‘Now I’m holding one, I think I kind of get it already. It’s very comforting!’ she began as she settled into her role petting the creature.

But Clara was not quite as thrilled by the would-be relaxing petting session, and determined to make her mark, attempted a great escape on live TV.

As Kate and Ben looked on in horror, the plucky creature flapped her wings in protest, with the terrified presenter holding on for dear life.

‘It’s like a blow dry thrown in!’ Kate screeched as a terrified Ben took cover.

And appearing to regain her composure momentarily before another flapping battle ensued, she mused: ‘This one is a bit like me!’

Chuckling, Ben, quipped: ‘It’s just like you – it won’t shut up! It looks like it is going to lay an egg on you!’

Kate, clad in a festive velvet skater dress, replied: ‘It’s Susanna’s dress, she will never know.’
