Kate Hudson in velvet ensemble at Fast Company Festival

Kate Hudson was certainly dressed for autumn in New York with a comfy crushed velvet ensemble to speak at the third annual Fast Company Innovation Festival on Thursday.

The 38-year-old Oscar nominee flaunted a hint of cleavage in a beige top beneath a red velvet drawstring blazer, black velvet pants, and peep-toe Louboutins selected by stylist Sophie Lopez.

The buzzcut brunette – who plans on ‘bringing back the mullet’ – shaved her head in July for a mysterious role in the 2018 musical Sister, which is the directorial debut of Grammy-nominated hitmaker Sia Furler.

‘Our businesses have grown very quickly and very fast,’ Kate told Vanity Fair last Friday.

‘It was a learning curve for both of us. Sometimes it’s sharing experiences, like, “Did you ever think we’d be in this position?” She had an idea and it came to fruition and grew so fast – and same with me. We do talk about the learning curve and how fast we had to rise to that challenge.’

When it comes to Internet trolls, Hudson revealed she reads ‘almost all of the comments’ since she controls her 8.2M social media following.
