Kate Hudson appeared on the Howard Stern Show this week to perform her new music.
During her interview with the renowned radio host, the 45-year-old actress — who made her musical TV debut earlier in May — credited Madonna, 65, as one of her great influences.
‘Madonna was my hero,’ the Fabletics creator gushed. ‘I mean — oh, my god. I think she was every young girl’s hero.’
Kate shared a short anecdote about meeting the Like A Virgin singer as a kid when she was dating Warren Beatty.
‘You know when I met Madonna? When she was with Warren Beatty and I was a little girl,’ she told Stern. ‘She actually called the house and Oliver [Kate’s brother] answered the phone one time ’cause Warren was at the house.’

Hudson continued her story, explaining that she and her brother were ‘frozen’ when they answered the call.
‘We were just frozen,’ she recalled.
‘Oliver was like, “It’s Madonna!”‘ she said emphatically.

In a joint Instagram post with the Howard Stern Show, Kate shared a clip of her performance, which featured a rendition of the 1985 tune Voices Carry by ‘Til Tuesday.
She sounded great as she belted out the hit, writing, in the caption: ‘What an amazing time talking with the man the legend @sternshow.
‘We played Gonna Find Out and then we covered one of my favorites growing up Voices Carry!’
The beauty first teased her venture into music back in December as she shared snippets from rehearsals and studio sessions on social media.
She wrote in a caption that her music has been ‘two and a half years in the making.’
