But for Sydney sex worker Kate Iselin, she revealed why she will only date men who have previously paid for an escort.

For her, Kate said dating a man who has been with an escort will have a better understanding of the sex industry.
‘My reasoning for only wanting to be with a man who has seen a sex worker in the past is because I think it gives him a greater understanding of my work,’ she said.
‘He’s actually walked into a brothel and paid for a service, then a lot of what I do isn’t going to be a mystery to him anymore.
‘He knows that it’s not some wild ordeal every night. He knows that I’m not getting clients’ phone numbers and going on dates with them after hours.
‘For a guy who goes on a first date with me, he has to be open-minded to it, I’m certainly not going to waste my time on someone who looks down on me or who doesn’t respect me for what I do.’
After going on previous dates in the past, Kate said she realised the stigma surrounding the sex industry.
‘I’ve dated guys in the past who has never been to a sex worker before and never met one, and I think maybe on the date with me, I realise they either don’t like sex workers at all or they kind of want to exotify what I do,’ she explained.
‘They find it really exciting and they don’t really see me as a person, sadly.’

‘I think other women should date the kind of guy who they want to date and if it’s someone whose never been with a sex worker before, then that’s great,’ she said.
‘And if it’s someone who has, then that’s also great. If it’s with someone who is a sex worker, then even better.
‘For me, I would be looking for someone who has had a bit more sexual exploration in his life.’
