Kate Middleton wearing more daring designers including D&G and Gucci

The Duchess of Cambridge may have spent the past few years perfecting her classic royal style but it looks like she might be introducing a few new looks to her wardrobe rota.

Kate, 37, is normally one to play it safe when it comes to her fashion choices, sticking to her go-to designers such as Alexander McQueen and Catherine Walker.

But the mother-of-three has been stepping out in some new brands and more daring creations for some of her latest royal engagements – including Missoni, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana.

‘Whilst Kate has always had a penchant for mid-range brands such as Hobbs, Reiss, LK Bennet peppered with her high-end favourites such as McQueen and Catherine Walker, Meghan has brought a high-end fashion look to the royals,’ said celebrity stylist Lucas Armitage.

Speaking of her recent switch up, celebrity stylist Lucas Armitage says: ‘Meghan has brought a high-end fashion look to the royals. Perhaps this high end vibe has inspired Kate to venture into a bold new world of Gucci.’ Above, the Duchess of Cambridge donned a new £790 silk Gucci blouse as she attended the Henry Fawcett Centre in south London yesterday

He continued: ‘Perhaps this high end vibe has inspired Kate to venture into a bold new world of Gucci – something that feels quite new and fresh for her.’

Yesterday, the royal mixed high street and high end during a visit to the Henry Fawcett Centre in Kennington, south London.

She paired a new £790 silk Gucci blouse – which she wore back to front – with a favourite pair of £130 high waist trousers by Jigsaw.

And just last month, trendy Kate swapped her usual go-to brands for Missoni when she joined Prince William at Belfast’s Empire Music Hall during their surprise tour of Northern Ireland.

With the nation keeping an eager eye on her sister-in-law Meghan’s style, the mother-of-three may have been inspired to branch out and explore more controversial looks.

Just one day later, Kate donned a pastel blue £1,735 Mulberry coat as she accompanied her husband William to the Braid Arts Centre in Ballymena, County Antrim.

While Mulberry has long been one of Kate’s favourite designer brands, the statement cape detail gave it a high fashion edge, compared to a simpler style she wore back in 2014 by Alexander McQueen.

Earlier that month, the Duchess of Cambridge attended The Royal Foundation’s ‘Mental Health in Education’ conference in a bespoke black tweed skirt suit by Dolce & Gabbana.

She paired the chic outfit with simple accessories, including an elegant £495 black suede clutch by Mulberry and she kept out the Winter chill in a pair of black tights.

Just hours later, Kate then stepped out in a bespoke Gucci gown as she joined female leaders for the annual 100 Women in Finance event at the Victoria & Albert Museum.

The delicate floor-length dress featured layers of pleated tulle in a soft array of pinks.

The Duchess has worn Gucci before, back in 2017 also to the V&A museum in London but since then has stuck to her favourite go-to designers.

Kate’s stylist Natasha Archer, who has been working with the Duchess for many years, is currently on maternity leave after giving birth in December last year.
