Kate Moss has recalled the time Johnny Depp presented her with a diamond necklace in a very unique fashion – by nestling it between his buttocks.
Kate, now 48, and Johnny, now 58, were Hollywood’s ‘it’ couple when they dated from 1994 to 1998, with their relationship hitting headlines again recently when she was called to testify in his libel trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.
Speaking to British Vogue about one particularly memorable incident when they were dating, the model recalled: ‘That diamond necklace Johnny gave me, they were the first diamonds I ever owned. He pulled them out of the crack of his a**e.’
‘We were going out to dinner and he said, “I’ve got something in my bum, can you have a look,” and I was like, “what” and I put my hand down his trousers and I pulled out a diamond necklace. That diamond necklace.’

Talk also turned to Kate’s romance with Pete Doherty whom she dated on and off from 2005 to 2007.
The pair were known for their love of partying and also festivals, with the pair famously being the leaders in Glastonbury fashion and inspiring a range of festival looks for fellow revellers.
Discussing one of their times at Glastonbury she recalled: ‘It was really muddy that year and you had to wear a welly. It doesn’t matter what you wear on top, as long as you can get around from A to B, that’s what you have to do at festivals.’
Reflecting on one of her iconic looks she continued: ‘And those were Alexander McQueen shorts – I was going out with Pete Doherty at the time so I was wearing glow in the dark beads that he’d given me!
‘That bag survived five Glastonbury’s you could get so much in it, it was like a T.A.R.D.I.S, it was amazing.’
Kate and Pete’s relationship has come under scrutiny again in recent times following the release of the rocker’s autobiography, where he detailed several of their explosive rows.

Meanwhile, Kate’s relationship with Johnny also hit headlines once again over the summer when the model was called to testify on his behalf and squash Amber Heard‘s claim that he once pushed his supermodel ex down a flight of stairs.
During Amber’s testimony, the actress alleged that Johnny once shoved Kate down a flight of stairs – however, according to Kate – the actor actually helped her after she accidentally slipped.
Kate said during her testimony that Johnny never ‘pushed her or threw her down any stairs,’ in fact, she said that he tended to her after she tripped during a trip they took to Jamaica together.
‘We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did. There had been a rainstorm and as I left the room I slid down the stairs,’ she recalled, while testifying via video link. ‘I hurt my back, and I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened.’

She said Johnny came running back to help her, adding that he ‘carried her to her room and got her medical attention.’
When asked directly by Johnny’s team if the Pirates of the Caribbean star ever pushed her down the stairs, she replied, ‘No. No, he never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs,’ she told the court.
Fashion: Discussing one of their times at Glastonbury she recalled: ‘I was going out with Pete Doherty at the time so I was wearing glow in the dark beads that he’d given me!’
Kate and Johnny dated for three years in the ’90s, after they met at a New York City café.
And as two of the biggest names in Hollywood, the stars’ high-profile romance quickly became one of the most talked about pairings of the time.
Although the pair were often spotted packing on the PDA on romantic trips around the globe and often attended glamorous events side by side, their relationship also had a darker side to it that embroiled the pair in scandal and controversy, and led them to be featured in many a headline.
They were seen getting into heated arguments more than once, and on one occasion, a disagreement between them led to Johnny being arrested for trashing a hotel room.
Elsewhere in her chat with the fashion bible, Kate revealed how her life changed forever after she was discovered at age 14 by the founder of Storm Management, at JFK Airport in New York.
Yet looking back she noted there was lack of support for her and her peers at that time.
‘When I think back to what I was doing at that age, I am horrified at what was acceptable back then,’ she mused. ‘People wouldn’t believe it.’
She has turned it into her mission to ensure that young models aren’t taken advantage of by launching the Kate Moss Agency, that has big names such as Georgia Palmer and Stella Maxwell on their books.
She noted that her primary concern is ‘that the kids are taken care of – and if they’re not, I get really pissed off.’
While Kate has had highs and lows in the industry, she is proud of her 19-year-old daughter Lila, who has followed in her footsteps and is making a name for herself in the modelling world.
‘I think she’s on her own journey, and has found her own self,’ Kate mused, later adding: ‘She’s got really good fashion sense. I ask her advice. She doesn’t ask me, I ask her.’
Packing it in? Elsewhere in her chat with the fashion bible, Kate revealed that despite being one of the world’s most famous supermodels, she just sees modelling as a ‘means to an end’
She recalled a conversation she had with Lila when the teenager landed her first Vogue cover, with Lila saying ‘”Mummy, it was the best day of my life.” She felt like an independent woman doing her own job. She got there on her own. She felt that she had arrived in her own body.’
Likewise, Kate also remembers her first Vogue shoot fondly, noting: ‘When I had my first Vogue cover I thought, alright I’ve made it, that’s it, I don’t have to do it anymore. I think I was 19. It was really special, for me to be on Vogue it was like wow, I couldn’t believe it. I’ve got it framed at home. It’s one of my favourite pictures I think.’
Yet Lila won’t be following the exact same path as Kate, with the supermodel revealing her daughter was shocked by some of the items she wore in her youth.
Reflecting on one racy Vivienne Westwood ensemble, she quipped: ‘That skirt, I’ve got one and Lila, she’s like ‘Mummy! It’s so short!’. Yeah, you’re supposed to see your knickers.’

Two of a kind: While she has had highs and lows in the industry, she is proud of her 19-year-old daughter Lila, who has followed in her footsteps and is making a name for herself in the modelling world (pictured at the Met Gala in May)
After working with the biggest fashion brands in the world, Kate is now on a new path, launching her wellness brand, Cosmoss.
She explained: ‘Modelling is a means to an end. It is paying for all the things that I want to do. I’m funding Cosmoss by myself.’
The move into wellness may seem unexpected for the notorious party girl, and by her own admission were adrenal glands and nervous system were ‘f**ked’, and she decided that she needed to ‘fix them’.
She referenced the Big Book, a self-help tome that presents 12 steps to recovery, to help her recovery, noting: ‘I learnt to look at myself, at my shortcomings and truthfully at who I am. And not be afraid. I started meditating every day, doing transcendental meditation, wild swimming… I tried everything [new].’
