Kate Ritchie reveals perfect lunchbox for daughter Mae

She balances her high-flying radio career with life as a mother-of-one. 

And Kate Ritchie, 39, proved that she really can do it all when she shared a video of the picture-perfect lunchbox she had packed for her daughter on Friday. 

Taking to Instagram Stories, the mother-of-one uploaded a short close-up video of her three-year-old Mae’s nutritious lunch, which included sandwiches crafted using wholegrain bread with the crusts cut off, fresh strawberries, tofu, mango and a green apple.

The author and skincare brand ambassador wrote in the caption: ‘Is it OK to admit I [heart emoji] packing her lunch?’ along with the words: ‘Happy Friday’. 

Wholegrain bread with the crusts cut off, fresh strawberries, tofu and beans, cut mango, a green apple. 

Hours after posting the update Kate took to her Instagram again, this time to share her first ever image of Mae’s face.

While it’s not known exactly what inspired the the notoriously private celebrity to change her tune, she did hint at her reasoning in a lengthy caption.

‘I️ don’t often share this most precious being but sometimes I am tired of protecting her and want to rejoice in her,’ she wrote, in part.

In January, the brunette beauty told The Grace Tales motherhood had challenged how she had lived her life since breaking into the acting world as a child. 

‘On a practical note, it has taught me I can no longer control everything, especially when it comes to my schedule,’ she said.

‘That is tough for someone who was trained to live by one from the age of eight and who has taken great comfort in that.’

The mother of one also revealed she works at home until lunchtime on most days to ensure she can spend time with Mae. 

‘Mae is yet to go to daycare so our mornings are often full of activities such as music, swimming and gymnastics!’ Kate said.

The three-year-old is the radio host’s only child with footballer Stuart Webb, who she married in 2010.
