Kate shows off her blossoming bump in no-nonsense navy

She’s making her return to official royal engagements for 2018, and things got off to a fun start for the Duuchess of Cambridge today as she enjoyed a laugh with children at a school in west London.

Kate chose a no-nonsense navy ensemble for her first day back at work, wrapping up her blossoming baby bump in a wool coat by Hobbs, and was co-ordinated to the max with matching accessories.

The Duchess, who celebrated her 36th birthday yesterday, looked glowing and happy as she greeted schoolchildren at the Reach Academy Feltham, west London, a west London school that works with a children’s mental health charity to help pupils, teachers and parents.

Place2Be provides children’s mental health services to 282 schools in the UK, including the Reach Academy Feltham, west London.

Kate has been the charity’s royal patron since 2013.

She supports a range of mental health charities along with the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

Place2Be helps children experiencing issues such as bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.

Kate will visit the early years section of the nursery and will speak to parents who have benefited from the school’s parenting support.

She will also be given a tour of the school, which teaches pupils aged four to 18, before talking with Place2Be staff and a group of secondary pupils about the support on offer.

It’s Kate’s first official royal engagement of 2018, which is set to be an exciting year for the royal family.

The Duchess will give birth to her third child sometime in April, a month before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed at Windsor Castle.

On Monday, Princess Charlotte’s first day at nursery school was marked by the release of two pictures taken by her proud mother.

The two-year-old, who is fourth in line to the throne, was photographed at Kensington Palace before travelling to £3,000-a-term Willcocks Nursery School.

Kate is a keen and accomplished amateur photographer who last year accepted a lifetime honorary membership of the Royal Photographic Society which recognised her ‘talent and enthusiasm’.

Yesterday, the Duchess marked her 36th birthday in low-key fashion with a private celebration.
