Katie Holmes happily chatted on the phone as she made her way to the Barrymore Theaters in New York City for the Saturday performance of Our Town.
The actress, 45, known for her distinctive style, wrapped up in a large black scarf and an oversize brown, white and black plaid jacket as she strolled through New York City.
The Rare Objects star and director wore tailored jeans and black lace-up ankle boots. One of the shoes seemed to have a pink sticker on it.
She carried a large camel toned leather bag.
Holmes appeared to be wearing little to no makeup and wore large gold framed sunglasses in the afternoon sun.
The majority of her long, dark hair was hidden by the scarf.

The revival of the Thornton Wilder play, which was first performed in 1938, features more diverse casting and includes Jim Parsons, Zoey Deutch, Ephraim Sykes, Julie Halston and Michelle Wilson.
‘We have this wonderful, beautiful group of actors and we’ve all been working hard to bring this to the stage and it’s very exciting,’ Holmes said in a promotional video shared on social media.
Holmes stars as Mrs. Webb, mother to Deutsch’s protagonist Emily. Richard Thomas of The Waltons fame stars as Mr. Webb.
In an interview with Playbill, Holmes spoke about working on the show and the new approach to the universal story.
‘He didn’t want this to be a play about nostalgia,’ the Dawson’s Creek alum said referring to director Kenny Leon.
‘He wanted this to be a play about village life set against the stars, against humanity.’
Holmes became an empty nester when her daughter Suri, 18, went off to college at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, PA.
She shares the teen with ex-husband Tom Cruise, 62.

While talking to Town & Country in August, Katie discussed her daughter moving away to attend the university.
‘I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy,’ the actress gushed to the outlet.
‘I remember being this age, this time of beginnings.’
‘It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that.’
Holmes’ run with Our Town goes through January 19.
