Katie Holmes runs errands in New York City in baggy top and jeans while having animated conversation on phone

Katie Holmes was seen in New York City over the weekend having an animated conversation on her cell phone as she carried multiple tote bags.

The Dawson’s Creek star, 45, smiled and giggled during her phone call.

Katie was dressed casually in a loose-fitting lavender and white striped button-down and wide-legged jeans with a crease down the center of each leg.

Her long brown hair was gathered into a ponytail and she wore aviator-style sunglasses and white athletic shoes.

Katie, whose only child Suri Noelle is off at college in Pittsburgh, is currently starring in a revival of the play Our Town on Broadway.

The play opened on September 17 at the Barrymore Theater on Broadway.

The mother of one has been able to dive deep into rehearsals for Our Town in the month since Suri left for Carnegie Mellon University.

Along with Holmes as Mrs. Webb, the cast also features Jim Parsons as the Stage Manager, with Zoey Deutch set to portray Emily Webb.

Directed by Kenny Leon, the cast of 28 actors also includes Richard Thomas (Mr. Webb), Ephraim Sykes (George Gibbs), Billy Eugene Jones (Dr. Gibbs) and Julie Halston.

Wilder’s popular 1938 drama is a story about life and death and appreciating ‘every, every minute’ in between, as reported by New York Theatre Guide.

It has been more than 20 years since Katie’s Joey Potter chose Pacey over Dawson on Dawson’s Creek.

Despite that, Joshua Jackson, who played Pacey Witter in the beloved teen drama has some ideas about what Joey and Pacey would be up to now.

‘I think he would be raising her kids, if she’s out chasing her dreams. I think that’s the way that was going,’ he told E! News at the Doctor Odyssey premiere.

But fans shouldn’t get their hopes up for a reboot of Dawson’s Creek as both Holmes and Jackson have previously said they were against it.

‘I think it’s great that you are nostalgic for it,’ Katie said in a 2022 Screenrant interview.

‘So am I. But it’s like, do we want to see them not at that age? I don’t know. I don’t think [so]. We all decided we don’t actually.’

Meanwhile, Jackson told Mr. Porter in 2021, ‘I don’t know why you’d want to [bring it back]. Nobody needs to know what those characters are doing in middle age.

‘We left them in a nice place. Nobody needs to see that Pacey’s back hurts. I don’t think we need that update.’
