Katie Holmes seemed to be in great spirits on Wednesday as she smiled and laughed while on a cell phone call in New York City.

The former designer showed her affection for Taylor Swift by wearing one of the hitmaker’s t-shirts. The 44-year-old actress wore a shirt from the singer’s record-breaking Eras Tour.

The performer, who recently attended the celebration of the Sofia Coppola Archive, paired her top with a flowing pair of navy blue pants and added extra color to her look with bright red socks.

Holmes kept it casual while wearing a pair of Adidas Samba sneakers, and she slung a sizable purse over her right shoulder.

The Dawson’s Creek actress’ gorgeous brunette locks fell onto her back and contrasted well with the light tone of her top.

The performer’s most recent role in a film was in Rare Objects, which was based on Kathleen Tessaro’s 2016 novel of the same name.

The actress also served as the movie’s director, helped produce the project and co-wrote its script alongside Phaedon A. Papadopoulos.

The feature was centered on a young woman who attempts to rebuild her formerly turbulent life while working at an antique store.

In addition to Holmes, the project’s cast included the likes of Alan Cumming, Julia Mayorga and Derek Luke.

Rare Objects was released simultaneously in theaters and on demand on April 14th.

The movie received mixed to negative reviews from critics, and it currently holds a 43% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Holmes spoke about Rare Objects during an interview with Variety, during which she gave a bit of insight into her screenwriting process.

‘The screenplay has gone through a lot of different forms, which was great because you learn exactly the story you want to tell,’ she said.

The performer then discussed why she had chosen to work on the project in the first place.

She recalled: ‘I was drawn to the female friendship and this metaphor of “you are more beautiful for having been broken.”‘

Holmes also opened up about the prospect of acting in a film she directs in the future.

‘I don’t necessarily have to act in things that I direct. But if there’s a great role, and that makes sense, I’d love to do it. It’s exhausting to do both,’ she stated.
