Katie Price reveals her biggest downfall in life as thrice-married star vows to ‘rectify things’ after failing to attend bankruptcy hearing

Katie Price has revealed her biggest downfall in a candid new interview.

The former glamour model, 46, currently has a warrant out for her arrest after she skipped a scheduled £760,000 bankruptcy court hearing on Tuesday, having flown overseas for her latest cosmetic procedure. 

And speaking to Best Magazine’s Suddenly Single podcast, Katie admitted her relationships with men have ultimately been her undoing. 

She said: ‘My downfall in life, with everything, is men. If you took men out of the equation of my life, I’d have no dramas, no problems, nothing.’ 

Katie, whose ex-husbands include Peter Andre, Alex Reid, and Kieran Hayler, is currently in a relationship with the former Married At First Sight UK contestant JJ Slater, 31.

When asked what she looks for in a man Katie declared: ‘[Someone] To be my best friend’. 

But the reality star said this was not a role that could be filled by a gal pal due to her ‘liking d**k’. 

It comes after she said  her ‘healthy’ romance with JJ Slater is ‘foreign’ to her after she spent years in ‘abusive’ relationships.

The mother-of-five, told MailOnline she grew so used to being mistreated that she found it hard to recognise when she was with a loving partner.

But her outlook changed after undergoing a domestic abuse course, where she learned how to identify the warning signs and not be triggered by her previous experiences.

She says quitting alcohol and partying has given her a better foundation and she favours quiet evenings at her new home following her move from the Mucky Mansion over boozy nights on the town. 

Speaking exclusively, she said: ‘Things are really, really good with JJ. I have done a domestic abuse course and I learned and realised I have never been in a healthy relationship. When you are constantly in toxic relationships, that’s what you get used to.

‘It was quite a long course, it involved workshops, watching videos, then I realised oh my God, all of my relationships were some kind of domestic abuse. It is very foreign for me to be in a healthy relationship.

Katie has been with JJ, who’s 15 years her junior, since February and the couple have discussed having a baby together, with the model telling MailOnline: ‘I will definitely be a mother again’

‘I have been in situations since where I question is that going to trigger me, is that going to escalate, but JJ is completely different and it is a healthy relationship, which is completely new.

‘My whole life has changed, naturally before I met JJ, I was in a good place to start a new relationship. There are many aspects of my life that I have changed. I am going to start my empire again now I have hit the reset button.’

The podcast host is a mother to Harvey, 22, whose father, ex-footballer Dwight Yorke has been non-existent in his life, as well as Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, from her four-year marriage to Peter between 2005-2009. 

She also shares Jett, 10, and Bunny, nine, with Kieran before they split after five years in 2018. 

In recent times, she has been engaged to former Love Island contestant Carl Woods, 35, before they ended their romance for good last year. 

Katie is understood to be having a facelift at the Trio Clinic in Istanbul, with work being carried out on her eyes and under her chin while in Turkey. 

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the mother-of-five dismissed recent claims that she has travelled to Turkey after being turned down by other cosmetic surgeons.

She said: ‘I’m filming my new documentary. The reason I’ve chose the Trio Clinic is because I’ve had friends who have had surgery there and in my opinion they are the best for what I want doing. 

‘I can’t wait, they’re amazing, and they’re thorough here.’ 

On Tuesday, Katie shared a statement on her Instagram account saying she is ‘aware of the severity’ of her financial situation. 

She wrote: ‘Whilst I’m currently aware of the severity of my current personal financial situation with my ongoing bankruptcy, I am today shocked that whilst away working for a documentary on corrective surgeries that I should find myself yet again headline news.

‘The media in my opinion once again are trying to cause continued humiliation to myself and family. There are far greater and more pressing issues going on around the world that are more important and I’m sure most people are bored reading stories that are constantly misrepresented.

She wrote: ‘I have to continue in my work in order to satisfy these bankruptcy orders which is all I am trying to do right now. I am however not running from matters and will continue to take matters with great seriousness. 

‘I am doing the best I cam to rectify things during extremely challenging times. Once again I would like to highlight there are far greater and more news worthy stories.

‘I will continue to work on my mental health disorders for the sake of my self and my family and do the best I can.’ 

In May, Katie claimed on her own podcast that she has been signed off from appearing in court for her mental health, after receiving backlash for missing her last bankruptcy hearing to go on holiday to Cyprus.

She had been due to give evidence about her finances at the High Court in May, but at the start of the hearing, lawyers said that she had told them at the last minute she couldn’t attend due to health issues. A judge described this excuse as ‘scanty’.

Katie then jetted off on holiday to Ayia Napa with her MAFS star boyfriend JJ Slater , facing public backlash after being spotted sunbathing together by the pool.

A judge issued the warrant after she failed to appear at her £760,000 bankruptcy court hearing – having seemingly flown abroad

She said: ‘Everyone is like “oh she’s missed bankruptcy and she’s gone on holiday!” No, let me address it.

‘The court knew that I wasn’t going to my bankruptcy, because mentally – my consultant at The Priory – I’ve been signed off for any kind of activity for court.

‘I have I am continuing to to cooperate with the relevant people on matters to the best of my ability which will be addressed after my return from work.

‘Despite consistent stories trying to humiliate me on my personal misfortunes, I am neither embarrassed or ashamed. I own my situation and I am trying my best to work my out out of it and put matters right.’

Katie added that she is currently going through ‘challenging times’ and is doing ‘the best I can’ for the sake of her family.
