Katie Price’s dog Queenie killed in hit and run

Katie Price has been left devastated after her dog Queenie was killed by a ‘heartless delivery driver’ in a hit and run.

The star took to Instagram on Sunday to pay tribute to her one-year-old German Shepherd, who was gifted to her by Kieran Hayler back in 2016.

The former glamour model, 39, told her 1.8 million followers she was ‘heartbroken’ after her beloved dog was ‘run over and left to die’.

She penned: ‘I’m absolutely Devastated heartbroken my faithful loving family dogs life Queenie has been shortened as she was killed by a heartless delivery driver who ran into our dog seeing her struggle and drove off without telling us and left her to die very disappointed a human being can be this heartless! (sic)

Katie revealed she has gone to the police after the driver failed to stop after hitting the pooch. 

She added: ‘Security cameras show this and we have reported to police! DEVASTATED is a understatement.’

In another sweet snap of her cuddling the pooch, she wrote: ‘Sooo gutted I’ve lost Queenie!’, alongside several sad face emoticons.

Kieran also described his shock at her death as he took to Instagram to share a photo of her.

He wrote: ‘No words for what has happened but carrying her lifeless body last night will stay with me for the rest of my life!!! RIP queenie.’ (sic)

Katie previously spoke about getting Queenie on Loose Women.

She said: ‘We’d been looking for a puppy anyway and Kieran bought it for my birthday. I had to ask him first – I wouldn’t just take it home!’   

Explaining the reason behind her royal name, she added: ‘Queenie, to do with The Queen’s birthday, and obviously I have a lot of gay friends, so it all associates.’ 

Katie is a devoted animal lover with more than 100 pets spread over her farm and home. 

The television personality also owns another two dogs, three pigs and 80 chickens among her vast collection of animals.

Back in November last year, one of her beloved horses was struck and killed by a car on the A24 in West Sussex after escaping from its field.

The Loose Women presenter took to Instagram to share a shocking photo of a smashed-in car, while revealing the devastating news of the horse’s death.

She wrote: ‘Last night our friends horses including one of ours escaped from their field and ran onto the Road we are devastated. 

‘We are extremely upset to find out one of our horses was killed last night being hit by a car…

 ‘Thank god the driver of this car was very lucky and escaped and wish him well, police were amazing and so was the local community and thank them all ! 

‘Our friends other 4 horses thank god are alive with a couple of them injured and are still being treated by the vet and will be ok!’
