Katy Perry falls to the ground after the American Idol judges and contestants are EVACUATED

Following last week’s Season 18 premiere of American Idol, things get intense in Sunday night’s episode which finds judge Katy Perry appearing to collapse following a gas leak.

A new clip from the episode was released (via People), with the auditions appearing to take place in what looks like a rustic log cabin.

The incident takes place in Sunriver, Oregon, with other auditions during the episode taking place in Savannah, GA, Milwaukee, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.

The clip begins with Perry asking fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, ‘Do you guys smell gas?’

Bryan responds, ‘Propane’ as Perry adds, ‘It’s getting intense,’ as Bryan adds, ‘We’re getting heavy propane’ as Richie suggests it’s a ‘leak.’

Perry then adds she has, ‘a slight headache from it,’ but she soon starts getting up to leave, adding, ‘Ooh it’s bad, it’s really bad,’ as the rest of the judges join her.

A staffer is then seen instructing the rest of the contestants auditioning for the show to ‘get up and follow me as quick as you can’ as fire alarms are heard going off.

One of the contestants who was seemingly ready to audition is left baffled as the camera crews exit as well as an ambulance arrives outside.

Richie tells other staffers outside that they can, ‘smell it out here, holy crap,’ as firefighters arrive on the scene.

Bryan is then seen approaching someone else, stating, ‘This is no joke, there really is a gas leak.

The clip ends with Perry, who is standing outside, saying, ‘I’m not feeling good,’ before she falls to the ground as the clip ends.

It isn’t known if Perry suffered any illness or injury due to the gas leak on the episode, which airs Sunday, February 23 at 8 PM ET on ABC.

Season 18 is the third season on ABC, following a 15-year run on Fox.

The season premiere kicked off with auditions in Savannah, Milwuakee, Washington, D.C.; and Los Angeles. 

Perry has not yet commented publicly on the gas leak or her collapsing at this time.
