But Katy Perry appeared keen to shake off the mounting controversy on Sunday night, when she entertained hordes of fans by pressing on with her Witness tour.
Ever the professional, the 33-year-old singer commanded attention in a glittering asymmetrical red sheer dress, complete with a matching hood, as she took to the stage at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

She added an extra touch of chic to her shoulder-padded look with a pair of cat eye shades as she belted her way through a selection of her biggest hits.
Her performance came days after it was reported that her recent dinner date with The Weeknd was an act of ‘revenge’ after his ex Selena ’embarrassed’ Katy by joining her own ex Orlando Bloom for dinner one night in May while they were still together.

‘Katy has a long memory and she never forgets,’ the source told The Sun. ‘She didn’t like that everyone thought Orlando had cheated on her with Selena in Vegas that time – even though Orlando and Selena said they were just friends, it was very embarrassing for her.
‘Katy is not doing anything wrong right now – Selena has moved on from [The Weeknd] with Justin [Bieber] but I think she’ll love the idea that Selena will be shocked when she sees Katy and her ex out together.
‘If she does get upset, it’ll be payback for how Katy felt after THOSE Vegas pictures. As Taylor Swift knows, Katy doesn’t forget people who’ve made her look bad, and she thinks revenge is a dish best served cold.’

The Weeknd and Katy went to popular West Hollywood restaurant Madeo earlier this month.
Canadian singer The Weeknd – real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye – and Katy arrived separately to the eatery, before joining each other at a table inside for three hours.
According to Glamour magazine, the duo were sat inside the Italian restaurant until midnight before heading home separately in different vehicles.

A source told DailyMail.com that the actor was there for a bachelor party, and headed over to Selena’s VIP table after she arrived, where they were seen embracing.

According to TMZ, the pair were ‘touchy feely’, but Selena is said to have returned to her hotel room alone later that night.
The Weeknd, 27, split from Selena at the end of October and has already been romantically linked to another of his former flames, Bella Hadid, with reports recently claiming he ‘still loves’ the model.
Selena and The Weeknd had been together nearly a year before splitting up last month. She has been seen over the last two weeks rekindling her relationship with ex Justin Bieber.

The Weeknd and Bella began dating in early 2015 but took a break in December of that same year, spending the holidays apart.
