Singer Katy Perry has been trolled by pro-independence Catalans after using Spain’s coat of arms to announce a concert in Barcelona.
The pop star faced an angry backlash after publicising her June 28 show at the city’s Palau Sant Jordi on her social media accounts with the national symbol.
She wrote under her Instagram posting using a video featuring the shield against the background of the red and yellow colours of the Spanish flag: ‘Trust and believe I’m coming for you too Barcelona See you June 28.’
One furious Catalan wrote: ‘What an idiotic woman. You’re coming to Catalonia not Spain you son of a b*****.’

The singer is yet to comment on the row she sparked on any of her social media sites.
It is not the first time she has found herself under the microscope.
