Katy Perry keeps it casual in black sweat suit as she and Orlando Bloom step out in NYC ahead of her VMA performance

Katy Perry was spotted out in New York City with fiance Orlando Bloom this weekend, days ahead of her MTV Video Music Awards performance and Video Vanguard honor.

The 39-year-old pop music sensation was clad in a black sweatsuit with white underpants that she teased in the look’s low-slung, flared pants.

Her jet black hair was slicked back into an imperfect low bun at the back of her head and she added oversized black sunglasses.

She wore a full face of makeup underneath the sleek and sporty accessory and carried an iced coffee.

For his part, the 47-year-old Australian actor was dressed in a white T-shirt, light wash jeans and white sneakers.

The longtime couple had their four-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom in tow, with the tot dressed in a bubblegum pink outfit.

It was announced in mid August that Perry is the 2024 recipient of MTV’s Vanguard award.

‘Katy is a musical powerhouse and true pop culture icon,’ said Bruce Gillmer, Chief Content Officer of Music at Paramount+.

He added in the announcement, ‘With her game changing creative vision, she has become a global phenomenon and taken over the world’s biggest stages.’

The Roar songstress has been slammed by fans in recent months — for working with controversial music producer Dr. Luke on her single Woman’s World and for deflecting when she was asked about it by Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper.

Fans accused her of ‘gaslighting’ them with her non-response to the outrage over her work with the music producer, who was was embroiled in a decade-long legal battle with Kesha over alleged sexual assault.

The Tik Tok songwriter accused Dr. Luke, real name Łukasz Sebastian Gottwald, of sexual and physical abuse. He went on to sue Kesha for defamation in 2014 but a settlement was reached in June 2023 before it went to trial.

Katy’s new album 143 has been promoted with a theme of ‘female empowerment,’ which has left many fans upset about Gottwald’s involvement.

Katy said she understands her collaboration ‘started a lot of conversations,’ but failed to directly address the producer’s problematic reputation.

‘I understand that it started a lot of conversations. And he was one of many collaborators that I collaborated with,’ she said, emphasizing that her lyrics come from her lived experience.

‘When I speak about Woman’s World, I speak about feeling so empowered now as a mother, as a woman, giving birth, creating life, creating another set of organs, a brain, a heart,’ Perry explained.

‘I created a whole whole heart and I did it. I’m still doing it. And I’m still a matriarch. And feeling really grounded in that, that’s where I’m speaking from,’ her answer continued.
