The singer, 39, was honoured with the award for ‘outstanding contributions and profound impact’ on music videos at the MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday.
The gong was presented by her husband-to-be Orlando, 47, who paid a sweet tribute to his ‘loving and irresistible’ fiancée during his speech.
Katy recently hit the headlines for making cheeky remarks about her sex life with Orlando and she couldn’t resist making another X-rated quip on the night.

Orlando paid tribute to his fiancée in a heartfelt introduction, as he welcomed her to the stage before her award acceptance and performance.
He told the audience: ‘You fell in love with her as Katy Perry. I feel in love with her as Katheryn Hudson. You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and her unique sense of humour to every song she writes and music video she creates.
‘I know her as a mother, as a partner, who brings that same love and joy to our family. In moments when we’ve most needed it, her music and the remarkable world she creates has brought a sense of joy and laughter, inspiring generations of people from all over the world.

The award comes as Perry prepares to release her upcoming seventh studio album 143. Her comeback single from the album, Woman’s World, flopped in the charts following its release over the summer.Additionally, she was heavily criticized for collaborating on Woman’s World with Dr. Luke, the music producer accused of sexual assault by Kesha in a lawsuit that was later dismissed. Dr. Luke has consistently denied the allegations.
