Reeves initially formed Dogstar in 1991 with Robert Mailhouse and Gregg Miller, though Brett Domrose joined the group in 1994.

They released a four-track EP Quattro Formaggi in 1996 and their first full-length album Our Little Visionary.

Their second album Happy Ending was released in 1999, though they broke up in 2002.

Over the years, the group would occasionally reunite for jam sessions, but during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, they spent more time in quarantine together.

Their jam sessions ultimately turned into songwriting sessions, which ultimately produced enough material for a new album.

They declared, ‘We’re back,’ in a July 2022 Instagram post, and performed again for the first time in two decades at the Bottle Rock Napa Valley Music Festival in May 2023.

The group launched their first single Everything Turns Around in mid-July, from their new album Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, due out October 6.

Dogstar also announced a 25-date tour in support of the album, which began August 10 in Hermosa Beach, California.

Reeves will next be performing at the Ventura Music Hall in Ventura, California on August 26, followed by the Belly-Up Tavern in Solano Beach, California on August 27 and The Observatory in Santa Ana, California on August 28.

The tour will then take them to Japan for several dates in September, before returning to the United States for a slew of shows through the fall and early winter.

The tour concludes with a pair of shows at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville on December 20 and December 21.
