Keir Starmer warns Iranian PM to ‘refrain from attacking Israel’

The Prime Minister tonight urged the Iranian president to refrain from attacking Israel , amid warnings from the US that the country could launch a significant attack on Israel within days. Speaking to Masoud Pezeshkian, Sir Keir Starmer warned of ‘a serious risk of miscalculation’, Downing Street said.

The phone call came as Washington confirmed that it has increased its military presence in the region to help Israel defend itself.
