Rock legend Keith Richards is selling his Greenwich Village penthouse in New York for $11.995 million, three years after he bought the lavish home with model wife Patti Hansen.
The Rolling Stones guitarist – who purchased the lower Fifth Avenue home for $10.5 million in 2014, according to city property records – has listed the home at a lower price after it failed to sell last year at the asking price of $12.23 million.
The building was featured in the novel One Fifth Avenue by Sex And The City author Candace Bushnell and was originally built as a luxury hotel, with the 27-story apartment featuring a full-time doorman, laundry facilities and storage.

Eye-catching features from Keith’s home include the 47-foot-long living, dining and entertainment space boasting four bedrooms, two on each floor, which each boast en suite bathrooms.
The master suite also features two walk-in wardrobes, whilst the home has access to three private terraces with views of the city and Washington Square Park, and features an open staircase with a leather wrapped bronze handrail, an air-purifying system and a Sonia sound system.
After interviewing Patti in their home, Vogue described the home as being ‘much like the couple who live in it, a strangely successful marriage of the conservative and the outrageous, the ordinary and the sublime.
‘Situated on a leafy road about an hour or so from Manhattan, it sits behind imposing gates that swing open onto a long driveway that winds past a Japanese garden with a wooden walkway, a guesthouse, a tennis court, a pool, and what must be the loveliest little greenhouse in all of suburbia.’

Keith has always been used to the high life, showing his sense of self belief, when he rented himself a serviced suite in the Hilton Hotel, with a balcony and a view of Hyde Park, at the age of 21.
At the time the apartment cost him roughly £28 a night. If he were to live there today, it would cost more than £2,000 a night.

Keith could afford to expand his property portfolio, as the star has shown so sign of slowing down with his career, insisting earlier this month that he won’t be retiring during the Rolling Stones No Filter tour in Hamburg this month.
Joined by his band members Sir Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts, who have a combined age of 286, Keith told fans: ‘We haven’t finished yet. It’s still too early for me to talk about the Stones’ legacy. There’s one thing that we haven’t yet achieved, and that’s to really find out how long you can do this.

The tireless rockers recorded their comeback album, Blue And Lonesome, in just three days back in 2015, and plans to release a new album are set to make the band a whopping £2million in the future.
When he is not touring, Keith spends his time with model wife Patti who he met in 1979 and went onto marry in December 1983. The married lovebirds raised two daughters together: Theordora, 32, and Alexandre, 31.
