Keke Palmer expressed her ire over phony people with ulterior motives in an Instagram post Wednesday.
The Emmy-winning actress, 30, posted a stunning selfie alongside a caption that detailed her personal feelings on people who she feels put on a show of being nice to her, with intentions of getting something from her at some point.
‘Sometimes people don’t want to be your friend, they just don’t want to be your enemy,’ she said. ‘They can’t be cool with you but they don’t want you to know, even though you already do.
‘And if they can keep you close enough, maybe they can use you at an opportune time without having to have shown any loyalty.’
The Harvey, Illinois-born entertainer wrapped up in saying that she would rather deal with people who are forthright with her, even if they are saying things she might not like: ‘It’s so much easier to be honest, no one trusts a coward.’

Palmer did not mention any names in the post, which comes in the aftermath of an extended legal conflict and custody battle with ex Darius Jackson, who she shares son Leodis, 11 months, with.
Palmer said in court docs filed last November that Jackson had been physically and emotionally abusive to her.
Palmer submit to the court footage from a home security video which she said depicted Jackson’s physical and emotional abusiveness he’s displayed toward her.
Palmer described a November 5, 2023 incident with Jackson in which she said he was physically abusive toward her.
‘He lunged at me, grabbing at my neck and face, knocked me backwards over the couch, stole my phone out of my hands and then ran out of the house,’ she said in court docs.
Palmer told the court that Jackson behaved in a similar manner in an incident in February of 2022.
‘In the bedroom, he slammed me on the floor and slapped my head from side to side,’ Palmer said. ‘The next morning, he was standing at the bottom of the stairs near the front door, screaming at me as I was coming down the stairs.’

The former couple was seen at an event in Pacific Palisades, California in October of 2021
Palmer was subsequently granted a temporary restraining order, which was recently extended. She has also been granted temporary sole physical and legal custody of Leodis, with Jackson getting no visitation until further modifications from the court.
Jackson last month filed for a restraining order against Palmer, telling the court hat she had, for years, behaved ‘verbally and physically’ abusive toward him. He said that an ‘agitated and aggressive’ Palmer ‘punched’ his face at a party in August of 2021, a short time after they began seeing one another.
Palmer and Jackson are due back in court when the restraining order expires on July 16.
