Keke Palmer welcomes son with boyfriend Darius Jackson and shares first photo of their infant son

Keke Palmer announced that she gave birth to her first child, a son named  Leodis Andrellton Jackson, with her boyfriend Darius Jackson, over Instagram on Monday.

While sharing her first picture as a mother from her hospital bed while cradling her little boy, the 29-year-old actress looked serene as her man gazed lovingly at their infant.

‘I’m not hiding the world from my son, I’m hiding my son from the world,’ she joked in the caption.

The announcement comes a month after accidentally revealed her baby’s gender  on Wednesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

While chatting with the late-night host, 48, during a conversation about what zodiac sign her little one will be, the Nope star let it slip that she was expecting a son.

‘So, my baby is either going to be a Pisces or Aries,’ she gushed. ‘Pisces are known to be very deep. They’re emotional creatures. So, I just want to make sure I’m not too blunt for my baby boy.’

She went on to admit that ‘sometimes’ she can be a ‘little too tell it how it is,’ and might have to learn to ‘wade in the water with a Pisces’ and ‘keep it chill.’

Prior to her interview, fans speculated Palmer was having a girl after she tweeted that it ‘kills’ her ‘when guys are disappointed that they are having a girl.’

She went on to call baby girls ‘a blessing.’

The performer first confirmed she was pregnant with her first child with boyfriend, Darius Jackson, while hosting Saturday Night Live last month in December.

She announced her pregnancy as she delivered her opening monologue by throwing open her blazer to ‘set the record straight,’ as she gave viewers a look at her baby bump, before, expressing, ‘I’m gonna be a mom!’

Keke is expecting baby number one with her boyfriend Darius Daulton, whom she has been in a relationship with since 2021. The two lovebirds went public with their romance on Instagram in August 2021.

Shortly after the announcement aired live on SNL, Darius confirmed he was the father by uploading an adorable snap of Keke cradling her baby bump with the simple caption, ‘2023’ and a red heart emoji.

Palmer recently reflected on the struggles of growing up in the spotlight, after landing very own Nickelodeon series True Jackson, VP, in 2008.

The singer, who drew rave reviews for her breakout performance as an 11-year-old spelling prodigy in Akeelah and the Bee (2006), admitted that being a household name came with challenges during a new interview with THR.

While recalling her decision to accept a week-long Nickelodeon cruise for her entire family back in 2009, in exchange for a few hours signing autographs, the singer said the stress from her voyage caused her to faint ‘from anxiety.’

‘I felt like I was walking around in a SpongeBob suit that I couldn’t take off,’ the Scream Queens star said, after noting she could barely leave her cabin. ‘I was trapped.’

She continued: ‘I couldn’t leave my room without someone coming up to me calling me True Jackson. What you are, to everyone, is just a character… just part of their experience.’

Still, Palmer acknowledged that she understands that the ‘child-star storyline’— in which the price of fame causes a myriad of problems for talented young actors like Britney Spears, Amanda Bynes and Lindsay Lohan — has been ‘beat over the head.’

Still, she points out: ‘For the people who think that a normal childhood is overrated, nothing’s overrated if you didn’t have it.’
