Kelly Clarkson belted out a ballad from her new record in the New York City subway.
The 41-year-old’s voice echoed through the platform, joined by a cadre of back up singers who harmonized with her on Mine, from her new album Chemistry, in a video shared on YouTube.
The collection of soon-to-be hits about love, loss and survival was released Friday.
Kelly, who has been spending time in the Big Apple to promote the record, looked business casual in a black and white print long sleeved dress with a handkerchief hem, black stockings and sneakers.
The performance seemed to have been part of a flash mob, similar to one the hitmaker put on at a coffee shop June 10 in Los Angeles.

‘When you decide to #flashmob people at a random Blue Bottle in LA…’ she explained on social media.
On Friday, Kelly celebrated the record’s debut telling fans, ‘The album came out today, ya’ll,’ in a video on Instagram.
‘Chemistry, it’s finally out.’
‘Oh my gosh. I wrote it so long ago, I can’t believe it’s finally happening.’
‘I hope you connect with it and I hope you dig it and if you don’t, that’s cool too,’ she joked nervously.
The talk show host, who will begin her Las Vegas residency July 28, told fans ‘I hope you’re coming to Vegas. We’re definitely singing the new music and some old hits.’
The American Idol winner has admitted the new songs are based on her breakup with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, 46, and told her fans it may sound ‘cheesy’ but she hoped they would find comfort in the songs if they were going through a difficult time.
In discussing the song Lighthouse with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the songwriter admitted when she started writing the tune, ‘I thought I was the lighthouse, but I figured out while writing it, no one’s the lighthouse, the lighthouse is what we never got to.

‘We were in the dark, lost at sea, treading water,’ she explained, ‘Couldn’t find each other, no matter how hard you swam.’
The Grammy winner said realizing the relationship was irreparably broken ‘is very freeing.
‘It’s incredibly sad and it’s a dark place and fetal position on the floor crying, and you know, there’s so much loss with that, and I had never experienced grief like that, but I also think it’s very freeing to go… this is not working.’
The single mom said the split was also for the sake of her children, River Rose, nine, and Remington “Remy” Alexander, seven.
‘We had these two little kids watching us and you don’t want to set that example for what this is what they’re going to set the bar for. I’m like, I don’t want my kids to be in this relationship. I want them to aim higher.’
