Kelly Hamilton’s secret life as a roadie before joining The Wiggles

Kelly Hamilton has joined The Wiggles as part of the group’s diverse shake-up. 

And Daily Mail Australia can reveal the 45-year-old isn’t new to the spotlight, having worked as a roadie with touring bands for the past decade.

Kelly has toured Australia with the likes of Ice-T and his wife Coco Austin during their 2017 tour, and singer Grace Jones in 2018.

She has also toured with Pink, Beyoncé and Foo Fighters. 

According to a former associate, Kelly has always dreamt of being on the stage.

‘Kelly has always wanted to become famous and would joke that one day she would be the one getting driven around,’ they said.

‘She was a back-up dancer for The Wiggles in 2009, and that was always the first thing she would bring up when talking about her side hustle.’ 

According to Wigglepedia, Kelly briefly appeared as a ‘Wiggly Dancer’ for the group before appearing on Sesame Street and Play School.

The Wiggles last week announced the hiring of four new ‘diverse’ members. 

Three women and a former pop singer will be joining Anthony Field, Simon Pryce, Emma and Lachlan Gillespie.

Kelly will be sharing the Wiggles’ stage with fellow newcomer Tsehay Hawkins, a 15-year-old who was adopted from Ethiopia. 

They will be joined by Justice Crew member John Pearce, a 30-year-old personal trainer with a Filipino background. 

Rounding out the new arrivals is Evie Ferris, a 24-year-old Indigenous dancer from Cairns.
