Kelly Osbourne ‘checks into rehab’ and is ‘seeking treatment’ at a facility in Texas… after relapsing from sobriety during the pandemic

Kelly Osbourne reportedly checked into a ‘rehab’ facility and is ‘seeking treatment’ in Austin, Texas after struggling with sobriety during the pandemic.

The 36-year-old daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne has long battled addiction issues and is planning on ‘quitting Hollywood’ once she recovers.

Kelly, who starred on her family’s MTV show for four seasons between 2002-05, admitted on Red Table Talks earlier this year that her opioid addiction began when she was prescribed Vicodin after an operation to remove her tonsils when she was 13.

DailyMail.com contacted Osbourne’s representatives for comment.

‘The scandal about her mom’s exit from The Talk had a tremendous impact on her,’ a source close to the family told Radar Online. ‘At the same time, Ozzy has crippling Parkinson’s disease and excruciating nerve damage. Kelly felt everything hit her at once.’

Kelly revealed her recent sobriety slip happened amid the lockdown as things were just starting to open up again around the country.

‘I was alone, sitting by a pool and waiting for somebody to come have a meeting with me. And I saw this woman and her husband had a glass of champagne. It looked really nice and I was like, “I can do that, too,”‘ she said. ‘And the next day, I had two glasses. And the day after that, it was bottles.’

She told The Sun: ‘But it went from having one drink here, one drink there to literally three bottles of champagne and 24 White Claws a day.’

On her podcast, The Kelly Osbourne and Jeff Beacher Show, Osbourne said that she would sip out of a large ‘coffee mug that said, “Thank God I’m not dead” which is so ironic.’

The Osbournes star spoke with Extra in May about the relapse, which came amid the lockdown as things were opening back up again.

‘I’m that girl that when everything is going great I need to f*** it up a little and make everything a little bit worse in my life,’ Kelly said.

‘I am an addict and had thought that I had enough time under my belt and I could drink like a normal person, and it turns out I cannot and I will never be normal.’

Kelly said that in hindsight, she doesn’t know why she experimented in the first place.

‘It took me a matter of days and I was like done, not doing this,’ said Osbourne, who has had multiple rehab stints in an effort to shake her addiction. ‘This is something I am going to battle for the rest of my life. It’s never going to be easy.’

Osbourne opened up in an Instagram clip April 20 about the sobriety slip, as she had been sober since 2017.

‘I relapsed. Not proud of it. But I am back on track,’ she said. This is a little hard for me to talk about, but I’ve always promised you that I will always be honest with you about where I’m at and what’s going on in my road to recovery.’
