Kelly Oubre’s car accident this week is reportedly being investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division after he received no punishment for allegedly smashing his Lamborghini into another driver.

After the Sixers’ Game 2 loss to the Knicks in the NBA Playoffs, Oubre allegedly ran a red light at around 1:45am before crashing his purple vehicle into a Hyundai Elantra – causing both vehicles to be towed.

And while Oubre was not ticketed for the accident and was able to appear in Game 3, the PPD has now told TMZ Sports that an internal investigation of the crash is underway.

According to the outlet, which cited a law enforcement source, Oubre was not given a breathalyzer or blood test following the crash, and some within the PPD are concerned whether he received special treatment.

There is reportedly no evidence that suggests Oubre was driving impaired.

Oubre, 28, is in his first year with the Sixers after signing a one-year, $2.9million deal with the team last offseason.

He’s topped $65million in earnings throughout his career.

The wing poured in 15 points and grabbed seven rebound as the Sixers won Game 3, 125-114.

However, he said after the game that he should ‘probably’ hire a personal driver.

Oubre’s accident this week comes roughly five months after he suffered broken ribs and cuts when he was struck by a car.

Ring doorbell footage captured him walking back to his house afterwards as he winced in pain.

According to a police report at the time, Oubre was allegedly walking west when a silver vehicle speeding in the same direction tried turning south onto a different street – but struck him in the upper chest with the driver’s-side mirror.

He missed 11 games after that incident.
