Kelly Ripa reveals she wanted to set her son up with Lisa Rinna’s daughter Amelia Gray Hamlin as presenter quips: ‘He wouldn’t know what to do with that!’

Kelly Ripa has revealed she tried ‘for years’ to set her sons up with pal Lisa  Rinna’s daughter Amelia Gray Hamlin, 22

During an episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Ripa, 53, caught up with her longtime friend Rinna, 6- -with the pair waxing lyrical about their children – specifically Ripa’s sons Joaquin, 20, and Michael, 26, and Amelia.

‘For years I tried to set our kids up,’ Ripa said, though she didn’t reveal which son she had in mind.

‘Yes, true story,’ the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum told the audience.

Ripa added: ‘For many, many years I tried. And then one day, Amelia like, burst onto the runway — I think it was her first fashion show, and I was like, “Never mind, he wouldn’t know what to do with that”.

She referred to Rinna and said: ‘I texted her like, “Forget it, he wouldn’t know.”‘

Aside from her two sons, Ripa also shares 22-year-old daughter, Lola with her husband Mark Consuelos, 52, and Rinna also shares daughter Delilah, 25, with husband Harry Hamlin, 71. 

The women continued to talk about their kids, with Ripa commenting on Amelia Gray’s modeling career.

‘Sometimes when I see your daughter, she is so reminiscent of you that I have to stop,’ the daytime host remarked.

‘I know, I know. It’s just truly been amazing,’ the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum replied. ‘It’s so much fun watching her. She’s grown so much. She’s just like, killing it.’

Ripa is also talking about menopause and her experience with it in the latest episode of her podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera. 

‘I love not getting my period. There—I said it,’ she said. 

She spoke about the stigma attached to menopause with her personal doctor Erika Schwartz M.D, revealing that many of her friends still get regular periods, leading her to not want to tell them she no longer does.

‘They routinely tell me they still get their periods regularly,’ she said. 

‘They’re talking to me, an open book, and still cannot bring themselves to talk about having gone through menopause. It is too scary for them to acknowledge.’

And she has a sense of humor about it all too.

‘You’re able to wear white pants and not be terrified,’ she quipped. ‘My first Memorial Day through Labor Day after menopause… It was the summer of the white pant because I never had to worry about wearing white pants.’
