Kendall, Gigi, Bella and Kaia in Star Wars illustrations

Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Kaia Gerber are showcasing their out of this world beauty in stunning new illustrations inspired by the Star Wars franchise.

In honor of the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on December 15, Harper’s Bazaar had Star Wars illustrator Brian Rood recreate classic scenes from the franchise, replacing the films’ iconic characters with the world’s top models.

One of Rood’s illustrations sees 22-year-old Kendall wielding a pink lightsaber while modeling a colorful Missoni dress and ankle strap sandals.

Kendall’s demure long-sleeve dress skims her ankles, and her brunette hair is styled in a tousled bob in the drawing, which was inspired by Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

Rood, who has been guiding the visual style of Star Wars merchandise since Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, has been working on storybook project that requires him to draw about 100 illustrations per film in the franchise.

The artist has already completed the first seven episodes in the franchise, and Harper’s Bazaar’s editors used the storybooks as a point of reference during their collaboration.

‘They came through and they went through some of the storybooks that I had done and picked out some of their favorite iconic scenes from the Star Wars films, with backgrounds everybody felt familiar with that you’ve seen a million times, and they had a list of the models in those scenes that they wanted with the outfits they wanted,’ Rood explained.

‘You know, kind of replace Luke with Kendall Jenner. So that’s kind of how that evolved.’

Another one of Rood’s drawings sees Gigi, 22, and Bella, 21, emerging from the Millennium Falcon wearing all-white outfits.

Bella’s raven hair is styled in a straight bob, and she is modeling a white Rag & Bone jacket and matching pants.

Meanwhile, Gigi is sporting a white Burberry trench coat and white Rag & Bone boots as she steps off the aircraft with her blonde waves blowing behind her.

Both sisters look like they are strutting down the catwalk in Rood’s incredibly detailed illustration, which is a nod to Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back.

The cast’s youngest model, 16-year-old Kaia Gerber, is depicted as a modern Princess Leia in Hoth’s snowy tundra.

Kaia, who is the spitting image of her mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford, was drawn wearing a strapless, gold satin Vera Wang Collection gown featuring sleeves.

The series of illustrations also features Victoria’s Secret model Taylor Hill striking a pose in a black and white striped Carolina Herrera dress while storming the gangway of the Death Star.

For rood, the most enjoyable thing about Star Wars from an illustrator’s standpoint is being able to ‘dabble in a lot of different cultures with the Star Wars films.’

‘If I’m doing a fine art painting, I can almost do a Wild West painting, or I can do a very hard sci-fi tech-y painting, or I can make it more fantastical,’ he explained.

‘I mean, that’s the beauty of the Star Wars films to me: they touch on so many levels and subject matters, and it’s cool creatively to spread your wings a little bit in so many different genres all inside of one film franchise.’
