The Churchill Arms in Kensington has put up its traditional Christmas display despite the retirement of its old landlord
Gerry O’Brien, who ran the pub for more than 30 years, started the tradition of dressing up the iconic west London pub
The pub is now being run by general manager Jim Keogh who has worked at the landmark bar for some 25 years
Former general manager Jim Keogh took over from much-loved landlord Gerry O’Brien earlier this year and has continued his festive fun.
The biggest tree at the pub in Kensington, west London, is a whopping 18-feet, and is adorned with multi-coloured lights and baubles.
It’s the 33rd year that the pub has been covered in decorations, which take a week-and-a-half to put up.
Jim, who has worked at the historic pub for 25 years, took over from Gerry, 66, in August when he retired and returned to his native Ireland.
During the summer, the pub is covered in 100 tubs, 42 baskets and 48 window boxes, costing around £25,000 a year.
The bar spends an estimated £5,000-a-year dressing up the pub with more than 21,000 fairylights for Christmas
