Kentucky Wildcats football coach Mark Stoops has told complaining fans to donate more money in response to unrest over Saturday’s 51-13 loss to Georgia.

The result at the weekend was not a huge surprise – Georgia are the two-time defending national champion and Saturday’s victory extended their winning streak to an incredible 23 games.

But Stoops still addressed the fan complaints after such a heavy defeat on his radio show on Monday.

‘You’ve got to own it, you’ve got to solve it and then you’ve got to go do it,’ he said.

‘The other side of that is, if you want to do that, complain, deny or make excuses. And we’re not going to do that. It is what it is.

‘Fans have that right. I give it to them. I just encourage them to donate more, because that’s what those dudes are doing. I can promise you Georgia, they bought some pretty good players. You’re allowed to these days. We could use some help.

‘Georgia is one for a reason. I give them a lot of credit. Would I like to be there, yes? But there’s a big difference between one and everybody else.’

Carson Beck passed for 389 yards and four touchdowns for Georgia in a commanding win while Brock Bowers had seven catches for 132 yards.

Stoop continued: ‘They were geared up, they were ready. We had their full attention. They responded. In our league… it can get away from you very quickly. I encourage anybody that’s disgruntled to pony up some more.’

Kentucky is second to Georgia in the SEC East, 2-1 and in the conference and 5-1 overall.

The Wildcats play Missouri Tigers next, on Saturday night.
