Kepa is Chelsea’s amazing technicolour keeper – he’ll wear his FIFTH kit in seven games v Valencia

Yellow, grey, black, turquoise… and orange! Kepa Arrizabalaga is Chelsea’s amazing technicolour goalkeeper with Spain star set to wear his FIFTH kit in seven games against Valencia

  • Kepa can’t wear Chelsea’s grey goalkeeping kit for Tuesday’s Valencia match
  • The strip is deemed to clash with Valencia’s traditional white strip
  • He’ll wear an orange kit – his fifth different strip this season in seven matches

It will be a case of another game, another kit for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa when he faces Valencia in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

The Spain stopper will take to the pitch in an orange goalkeeper kit on Chelsea’s return to the Champions League because the first choice grey kit for European games is deemed to be a clash with Valencia’s traditional white strip.

Remarkably, it will be the 24-year-old’s fifth different kit in only seven appearances so far this season.

In Chelsea’s opener against Manchester United – a humbling 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford – Kepa wore the yellow first-choice goalkeeper strip. He has also donned it for the draws with Leicester and Sheffield United.

Immediately after United, Chelsea headed to Istanbul to play Liverpool in the Super Cup. There, he wore the grey European kit that he isn’t able to wear against Valencia as Chelsea were defeated on penalties.

His third kit came in the victory against Norwich at Carrow Road; the yellow domestic kit and the turquoise back-up both clashed with Norwich’s home shirt, so Kepa wore all-black.

The turquoise shirt then got an outing against Wolves at the weekend as Frank Lampard’s men ran out 5-2 winners at Molineaux.

After Valencia, Chelsea will take on French side Lille and last year’s Champions League semi-finalists Ajax in Group H.

They return to Premier League action on Sunday when they host Premier League leaders Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
