Kerri-Anne Kennerley responds to backlash after fans accuse her of shaming a Studio 10 colleague

Kerri-Anne Kennerley has responded to criticism she shamed a fellow panelist on Friday’s episode of Studio 10.

Amid the backlash, the 66-year-old veteran TV presenter claimed she has ‘no idea’ what she did wrong after asking reporter Antoinette Lattouf if she’d ‘forgotten her pants’ on live TV.  

Commenting on a photo Kerri-Anne posted to Instagram earlier this month alongside model Kris Smith, 41, one fan accused the TV star of ‘sl*t’ shaming her colleague.

‘I don’t know what made you “sl*t shame” a reporter, but it was uncalled for especially on live TV,’ wrote one disgruntled viewer. 

They added: ‘Please be respectful otherwise people won’t be respectful to you.’ 

Kerri-Anne quickly responded, telling the viewer she had ‘no idea what u r [sic] talking about’.

This prompted another fan to weigh in on the conversation, telling the star to ‘Google it!’     

Antoinette was seated next to the TV stalwart during Friday’s episode of Studio 10 when Kerri-Anne made a quip about her chosen ensemble.

‘Did you forget your pants today?’ Kerri-Anne asked, referencing Antoinette’s short white playsuit.

Although Antoinette laughed off the comment, their co-panelists appeared shocked by the remark.

Fellow host Angela Bishop seemed determined to rectify the situation, with the 52-year-old telling Kerri-Anne: ‘She looks unbelievable!’

But Kerri-Anne wasn’t done yet, adding that Antoinette was ‘going to be thirsty’, a clear reference to an earlier discussion about the usage of the term in pop culture.

According to Urban Dictionary, ‘thirsty’ is another way of saying ‘horny’. 

But while Kerri-Anne was unable to see the offence in her remarks, many viewers, including commentator Clementine Ford, weren’t prepared to let her comments slide.

‘Why is Kerri-Anne Kennerley sl*t shaming her colleague here on @Studio10au? @antoinette_news deserves an apology Kerri-Anne needs to finally be put in the bin where she belongs,’ Clementine, 38, tweeted on Friday.
