Kerry told OK! magazine: ‘I got stuck in a bit of a rut and was full of self-loathing, which led to emotional eating. Something needed to change for me to feel better within myself. It was all about how I felt in my head.

‘It began when I moved back up north to Cheshire from Sussex in 2021. It was a big move and a big change. I got triggered because I was thinking, “Oh God, this is where I used to do drugs”.’

Kerry has kept the weight off by doing yoga every morning, calorie counting, and doing MFIT workouts, a programme she shares with her fiancé Ryan.

She finished: ‘I don’t lose weight for anyone but me and I’m happy when I’m fit and healthy. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t matter what size you are if you’re happy, but I don’t feel right when I’m bigger. I’m so much more confident now.’

Kerry has been engaged to Ryan Mahoney, a personal trainer, for over three years.

In 2023, Kerry revealed her plans to freeze her eggs, but insisted she and Ryan, 35, were in no rush to have children.

She has been married three times and has five children: Molly, 21, Lilly-Sue, 20, Heidi, 16, Max, 15, and Dylan-Jorge [DJ], nine.

Molly and Lilly-Sue are Kerry’s children with Westlife’s Brian McFadden, Heidi and Max with taxi driver Mark Croft, and DJ with rugby league player George Kay, who died after eating ‘a quantity of cocaine’ in 2019.

Despite the star’s recent weight-loss, it hasn’t been an easy journey for Kerry, who confessed she felt like ‘a swollen beached whale’ while on holiday in Mallorca with her family in August 2022.

Kerry admitted at the time that she was struggling with her weight gain and revealed she felt as though she was trapped in somebody else’s body.

She said she felt swollen rather than fat and planned to try lymphatic drainage and water retention tablets to try and resolve it.

Kerry explained: ‘I have put on a s**t load of weight while on this holiday, but that’s just normal and I’m just embracing it.

‘All I did on holiday was eat s**t and drink. We were there for two weeks and ate out every night. Some nights we stayed in and got takeaways, like pizza and chips.’
